What can I expect at the Rock Pile National Enduro?
Bull Run guest ranch is a 13,000 acre private ranch with an OHV trail system comprised of single track trails, ATV trails, and ranch roads that exceeds 100 miles.
Terrain
The ranch borders the Missouri river and the terrain includes grassy pastures, foothills, open rocky ridges, timbered ridges trails and valleys, stream crossings, and lots of rocks.

Elevation
The race starts at the Ranch House at 3,400 feet and has many elevation changes with the maximum elevation around 6,000 ft.
Weather
Late June weather is generally very nice with cool mornings and afternoon highs in the 80’s. However, Montana weather is unpredictable so be prepared for cooler temps and rain.
Bike Set-up
Be prepared for rocky terrain. Softer suspension settings generally work well. The test sections will be more technical and rocky. Transfer sections will be more open and less rocky. Softer set-up will allow you to relax on the transfers and go quicker through the technical sections. Bibb Mousse, Tire balls, or ultra-heavy tubes are advised. Intermediate terrain tires work best.
Facilities
All campsites are dry and do not have power. Potable water is available at the ranch house. Porta-johns will be distributed throughout the pits, camp areas.
Riding
There will be a KTM sponsored trail ride Thursday that will be a fund raiser for the Montana Trail Vehicle Riders legal defense fund. This will be a good chance for you to test jetting and suspension settings. The ride will not use the same trails as the race. KTM Team riders will conduct clinics during the ride. MTVRA will be conducting trail rides for the volunteer course workers Friday and Saturday. NO OTHER RIDING IS ALLOWED ON THE RANCH UNTIL THE START OF THE RACE.
Spectators
In addition the pit/start area, spectators will be able to drive road licensed vehicles to two areas where riders can be observed in special test sections.
Gas
The course will be about 40 miles with B and C cut-offs. AA/A and B will run two loops. A trailer will be provided to carry gas cans to one of the check points. You will also be able to put a can at the Start/finish check. It will be no more than 33 miles between the start/finish check and the Emergency gas check.
Services
The ranch is 10 miles from Cascade where you’ll find a small hotel, several restaurant/bars/cafes, a good grocery store with fuel pumps, a NAPA, and a couple small shops. Great Falls is 35 miles from the ranch and offers all services.
Things to do in the area
While you’re in the Great Falls area, there are plenty of local attractions to see including the four separate waterfalls on the Missouri River for which the city of Great Falls is named. Great Falls is within 2 ˝ hours of Glacier National Park, 4 hours of Yellowstone National Park, and 2 ˝ hours of Lewis and Clark Caverns.
