Due to the lesser snowfall over this past winter, the 2026 Mechanized Trail Maintenance season got off to an earlier than usual start on March 30th.
The first 5 weeks of this season were spent partnering with the USFS Butte Ranger District and the BLM Butte office on project trails in various areas of Pipestone in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest.
Work involved tread work, rolling dip construction, drain dip clearing, and washout repair sections. We were able to schedule this needed trail maintenance earlier in the year this time, which has resulted in some nicely corrected trail portions ahead of the heavier use that Pipestone will see during the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.
