As the season winds down, MTVRA’s Mechanized Trail Maintenance program was able to partner with the BLM Butte office Bureau of Land Management – Montana/Dakotas to complete much needed trail maintenance on the Clancy OHV riding area south of Helena.
If you’ve never been, this riding area is beautiful and more beginner friendly. It’s a smaller area that is easy to navigate and well maintained.
This year’s maintenance included tread reconditioning and rolling dip repair / cleaning. Deep washouts and exposed rock had to be covered with material that was previously washed away into lower areas. Trails were then finished with a trail rake to fill in low areas and to level tread as needed.
