MTVRA partnered with the USFS Helena Ranger District to complete some much needed trail maintenance over the past couple of weeks in the Big Belt Mtns. Everything was officially supervised by a few of the local residents in the last photo.

The last 2 weeks saw MTVRA partner with the BLM Billings office of Bureau of Land Management – Montana/Dakotas on trail maintenance projects in the Sykes Ridge area. Tread repair, rolling dip repair and construction, trees trimmed back as needed.

Due to the lesser snowfall over this past winter, the 2026 Mechanized Trail Maintenance season got off to an earlier than usual start on March 30th. Registration is now open to race the Burnt Timber XC on June 6-7 in Winifred, MT. The Burnt-Timber Cross-Country race has been a huge supporter of MTVRA over the years. Discussion about use plans for the Fish Creek Recreation area has been going on the past couple years. This is an area located to the west of Missoula. They now have a recommended course of action for multiple different uses (OHV, bicycle, hiking, hunting, E-bike, etc). This recommendation is now open to public comment. main…
