Last week saw our contractors working to the NE of Helena, MT in the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest. This area east of Canyon Ferry Lake suffered forest fires in the second half of 2024. The Helena Ranger District approached MTVRA in early 2025 about forming a partnership to tackle some mechanized trail maintenance in that area. This resulted in a new Challenge Cost Share agreement being signed between USFS and MTVRA to provide trail rehabilitation in the affected areas over the next couple years.
