MTVRA’s main mechanized contractor crew was hard at work in the Wise River Ranger District of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest this week. This was made possible through the partnership between MTVRA and USFS Region 1 for the purpose of maintenance and rehabilitation of the local public trail systems. Local USFS personnel provided the project details / goals, environmental studies as needed, and project supervision. MTVRA was able to secure the grant funding in order to hire the mechanized contractors to help work on the project.
This successful project partnership was the 7th Ranger District that MTVRA has worked with this season in Montana. Weather permitting, we will be working with a couple additional Montana Ranger Districts this season to help out with additional trail rehab projects over the coming month.
