MTVRA have been able to expand the Mechanized Trail Maintenance program over the past few years to help cover additional public OHV trails throughout Montana. With additional contractors, comes additional skill sets and equipment. One of our newer contractors specializes in single-track trail maintenance with his mini-ex. He just completed a few weeks of single-track trail maintenance in direct partnership with both Bureau of Land Management – Montana/Dakotas and Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, with an additional 10+ weeks scheduled during the rest of the summer riding season.
Before anyone comments that the photos “don’t look like single-track”, give it some time to settle in. Vegetation will grow in on the edges and it will look like a ST trail again. Our contractor uses the smallest machine possible to rehab single-track areas and has 10+ years experience doing this type of trail maintenance.
